Question about client ip

Hi,

we just installed a new cluster-system with pen. It works good so far, but we have one little problem:

Because we're running an advertising system on the WWW-servers, we need the real client ip adresses. If we try to get the ip with PHP (e.g. with getenv("REMOTE_ADDR")), this will always display the ip of the pen-server. I know that there's a switch to tell pen to write the real ip in the variable HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR - this is a good thing, but it only works the first time a page is called. If I reload the page, this variable is empty.

Does anyone of you have an idea how to solve this problem?
